Does the French for Preschoolers E-guide: Teachers’ Edition Include French Lesson Plans?
The e-guide provides an overview of how young children learn languages, strategies for successful early language learning, specific step-by-step guidance on how you can construct French lesson plans based on the Ana Lomba’s Easy Immersion® system, as well as a bonus 60-minute sample lesson plan in the Appendix. On Ana’s main website, she also offers ready-made lesson plan units.
What Is Ana Lomba’s Easy Immersion® About?
Ana Lomba’s Easy Immersion® is a language learning system geared to parents and teachers who want to expose and challenge young children to learn fluent everyday language in after-school or enrichment programs or during “French immersion time” at home. Ana’s mission it is to bring the best of language immersion methodology to settings that have not traditionally been able to enjoy it.
Is the French for Preschoolers E-guide: Teachers’ Edition a French Curriculum?
The e-guide is not a French curriculum for preschoolers – it is a brief but substantial and targeted introduction to everything you need to know to create your own curriculum, step by step. The sample 60-minute lesson plan provided as a bonus in the appendix gives you a head start.
As Ana likes to say, if you don’t know why you are doing something, then you are not in control of your class – no matter if you have a curriculum or not.
The e-guide is a great first step, especially for those who have not been trained in early childhood education and early second language acquisition.
That being said, Ana’s curriculum is available for start-ups and established language schools through a license agreement. She also offers packets for teachers and programs who want to get started on a smaller budget. Go here to read more about Ana’s language curriculum packets.
Can the French for Preschoolers E-Guide: Teacher’s Edition Be Used by Parents?
We do not recommend the e-guide for parents, as it is focused on classroom instruction. Instead, parents can check Ana’s other resources at www.amazon.com (check under “Ana Lomba”) and the iPad App Store for applications.
Can the French for Preschoolers E-Guide: Teacher’s Edition Be Used by Regular Classroom Teachers Who Do Not Speak French?
Ideally, classes would be taught by French teachers. However, the e-guide can be used to provide a general overview for non-speakers who want to collaborate with the French teacher and help expand the learning beyond the French class.
The French for Preschoolers E-Guide can also be used by administrators and business start-ups that are looking for ideas to get them started with a French program.
That being said, Ana’s other materials have been design for use by teachers and parents who do not speak French. Check them out at Amazon.com and Analomba.com.
Does the French for Preschoolers E-guide: Teacher’s Edition Address other Age Groups?
Yes, the e-guide will show you successful strategies for teaching French to toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners and early elementary age children.
Does the French for Preschoolers E-guide: Teacher’s Edition Include French Games, Songs and other Activities?
The e-guide is not an activity book. However, it includes many examples of songs, games, and storytelling tips that will inspire you as you create your own activities.
Please also check Ana’s hard copy books, available from Amazon.com and other local and internet bookstores. On her main website, Ana also offers e-storybooks and iPad apps. Also, if you are looking for ready-made curriculum (that is, lesson plans) in French that you can use in your class right away, then go here: Ana Lomba’s curriculum packets.

Hello! My son is 11 months old and I would love to introduce a second language to him. We just hired a French babysitter who will be teaching him French but I was wondering if your lessons are age appropriate for him. Please let me know, thank you!
Danielle McKenzie
Hi Danielle, the guide is geared to teachers in a group classroom setting. For a baby that young and your babysitter, I highly recommend the Hop, Skip, and Sing French CD https://www.analomba.com/product/hop-skip-and-sing-french-audio-cd/ Unfortunately, the CD packet is no longer available, but you can download the script and the soundtrack from that link. It includes easy rhymes, baby songs, and fun movement activities. In the same website you will see other materials that your babysitter can use with your son when he is a little bit older, such as the storybooks https://www.analomba.com/product-category/childrens-books-cds/ (these are easier), and the online subscription to stories (a little more advanced) https://www.analomba.com/product-category/estorybook-subscriptions/.
All the best,
Ana
I am not a native French speaker but I have a pretty decent command of the French language. Would this program lead me to be able to teach pre-schoolers French. I love children and have been an assistant in a Montessori classroom. Let me know. It feels like a good fit as I start on my third chapter of life!
Hi Monique, Yes, the guide can help you prepare your lessons even if you are not a native French speaker, as long as you have at least an intermediate command of the language. There is also the Magic Worlds curriculum. The teaching units have all the examples written in French (the explanations are in English). You can learn more about it at https://www.analomba.com/product-category/lesson-plans-curricula/
Best,
Ana
